Teach Your Children Well

"By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established, and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches." Proverbs 24:3-4

Since Halloween isn't a British thing, we weren't going to do anything about it. But then we got a knock on our door and were told Halloween was happening and our street was handing out candy. So, my little pirates got dressed up and we went out to meet our neighbors. The candy is their favorite part, but my favorite part is meeting our neighbors. The night wasn't much to write about, but we did get to meet a few neighbors and eat some candy. One neighbor ran across the street to give us some cookies. He said he'd lived there since the year 2000 and had always gotten ready for Halloween. This was the first year he didn't plan for the evening with a large bowl of candy. He was so excited to see our little pirates that we stood and talked with him for while. He was adorable, but most everyone here is with their British accents! Only five doors answered our Trick or Treat knocks, but that's five neighbors I didn't know before that night. I was pretty excited. : ) We live in a predominately black skinned neighborhood, so it was weird to find white skin answering a couple of the doors. As we walk to and from the bus station, train station, corner market, and look out our windows, we usually see black skinned folks. When we see white skin, we assume they're lost.

Hello?!? This question coming from a soon-to-be grandmammy? Aren't we still on St. Lawrence playing in the ditch?
